Thieving Nick wears his heart on his sleeve – I mean chest! Just like Robin Hood, he has a big heart and nimble hands. He robs from the rich and gives to the poor – which is you, right?
Thieving Nick is a Ruins Region Amitoi which means if you send Nick on a Ruins Region expedition, he has an increased chance of bringing home the rare blue pouch reward.
Nick is one of the first Amitoi you can acquire via an Exploration questline.
To learn the basics about Amitoi, please see this guide.

Rob? Tsk tsk tsk. That’s a naughty word. We never rob. We just sort of borrow a bit from those who can afford it.

“Meeting a Friend in the Field”
Prerequisites:
Level 18
Finished Adventure Quest: Chapter 3 “Ashien’s Strange Painting”
Finished Exploration Quest: Blackhowl Plains: A Kastleton Inn Ghost Story
Ashien’s Strange Painting – Prerequisite
You must complete the “Ashien’s Strange Painting” questline in the Adventure Codex before you can begin “Meeting a Friend in the Field” which rewards Thieving Nick Amitoi. This questline begins in Starlight Observatory.
Ashien will have you uncover the strange painting nearby and inspect it. She tells you that monsters are lurking inside and wants you to hop in to investigate. This is the portal to Taedal’s Tower, 20 floors of solo boss fights that get successively harder. You only need to complete 1 level for the questline, but feel free to go as far as you can.
Meeting a Friend in the Field
After completing the “Ashien’s Strange Painting” questline, head to the bottom of the Starlight Observatory and find the broken wagon off the road. Near the back wheel of the wagon you will find a powerless little doll. Interact with it to begin the questline for Thieving Nick Amitoi.
A Kastleton Inn Ghost Story – Prerequisite
When the questline for Thieving Nick sends you to the Kastleton Inn Owner, you might find you’ll have to exchange your services for some information about the Amitoi Tailor.
This means you haven’t yet completed the questline “A Kastleton Inn Ghost Story”. You can find the questline in your Exploration Codex → Blackhowl Plains: A Kastleton Inn Ghost Story.

Head out to the Blackhowl Plains to speak to the Scared Hunter who is located next to the Hunter’s Respite campfire at the big lake.

Head back to the inn, talk to the owner, then go upstairs to talk to the Inn Employee who is sweeping.
The maid tells you about the Drunkard who stayed in the haunted room last night. Talk to the Drunkard at the bottom of the stairs on the 1st floor.
He mentions seeing something odd on the table and professes his innocence.

Go upstairs to the haunted room on the 2nd floor to look around. Inspect the bloodstains and white bodies, then go downstairs to talk to the owner.
The Inn Owner offers you a room in exchange for your silence about the ghosts in room 202. This completes the ‘Kastleton Inn Ghost Story’ questline.
Speak to the Inn Owner again and she will tell you that the Amitoi Tailor is staying in the haunted room upstairs.

On your way to the Amitoi Tailor’s room, you’ll pass by another door with a glowing purple emblem. This is your room at Kastleton Inn. Inside, you’ll find your amitoi, Grover, on a shelf. If you interract with him twice, you’ll receive a few extra goodies. This completes the very short Exploration questline ‘Adventurer’s Little Friend’ under Blackhowl Plains.
Afterwards, head back out and go down the hall to the tailor’s room.

The Amitoi Tailor, Tailor Noan, fixes the powerless little doll for you.
After Tailor Noan fixes the powerless little doll, interact with it on the floor twice to collect the Amitoi, Thieving Nick.
Adding Thieving Nick to your Amitoi army completes the Pal Synergy with Grover: Everyone Has a Beginning which adds a permanent .5% Weapon Mastery buff to your character.
